The zebrafish laboratory (Pracownia Danio Pręgowanego) at the Department of Animal Development Biology at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of Wrocław was established on December 1, 2018. The head of the laboratory is Prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Daczewska.

The zebrafish lines in our facility:

Wild type:

- AB; ZFIN ID: ZDB-GENO-960809-7

- Tübingen (TU); ZFIN ID: ZDB-GENO-990623-3

Trangenic lines:

- Tg(9.7kb smhyc1:gfp)i104 - line with fluorescently tagged low myosin heavy chain 1 (smyhc1) [Elworthy S et al. ; Expression of multiple slow myosin heavy chain genes reveals a diversity of zebrafish slow twitch muscle fibres with differing requirements for Hedgehog and Prdm1 activity. Development 15 June 2008; 135 (12): 2115–2126. doi: 10.1242/dev.015719]

- Tg(pou4f3:GAP-GFP); ZIRC Catalog ID ZL9731. GFP is restricted to retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and to mechanosensory hair cells of the inner ear and lateral line neuromast [Xiao T. et al. A GFP-based genetic screen reveals mutations that disrupt the architecture of the zebrafish retinotectal projection. Development 1 July 2005; 132 (13): 2955–2967. doi: 10.1242/dev.01861]

Our facility is equipped in i.a.:

    • Aquatic systems to maintain the zebrafish husbandry,

    • Necessary equipment such as filters, pumps, UV lamps, systems for water purification ect.
